Frequently Asked Questions
Clear answers to help you plan your painting project with confidence.
Can you match an existing paint colour?
Yes. Les Grands Peintres can accurately reproduce nearly any colour from a sample, for both residential and commercial projects. Even if you no longer have the original colour code, we analyze the sample with one of our trusted paint suppliers to achieve a consistent and accurate match.
Do I need to move furniture before the painters arrive?
Our team carefully protects furniture, floors, and surfaces before work begins. However, if you have fragile, high-value, or difficult-to-move items (such as antiques, artwork, or sensitive equipment), we recommend removing them in advance or informing the crew lead during the preparatory visit.
How do you assess the cost of a project?
Every project is unique. Costs are determined based on several factors, including :

  • the condition of the surfaces and the level of preparation required ;
  • the number of coats needed ;
  • the areas to be painted and their total surface area ;
  • the type and quality of paint selected.

This is why we prioritize an on-site visit. It allows us to accurately assess your needs and provide a detailed, transparent estimate tailored to your project, so you can make an informed decision.

What type of paint do you use?
We prioritize the use of low-VOC or VOC-free paints, which are safer for health and more environmentally responsible. Depending on the surfaces, how the space is used, and your expectations, we select the most appropriate products to ensure a durable, high-quality result. We work with well-established paint manufacturers known for the reliability and consistency of their products.
Do you work outside the Island of Montréal?
Yes. Les Grands Peintres serves all of Greater Montréal, including the Island of Montréal, the North Shore, and the South Shore. Contact a member of our team to confirm service areas and receive a free estimate.
Can the work be done while the space is occupied?
Yes. Our teams are experienced in working in occupied residences and active commercial environments. We adjust schedules, protect the space, and plan the work to minimize disruption for occupants.
Are you an RBQ-certified painting contractor?
Yes. Les Grands Peintres holds a valid licence issued by the Régie du bâtiment du Québec (RBQ) and complies with all current legal requirements. This certification ensures professionalism, compliance, and protection for our clients, in both residential and commercial settings.
Do you offer free estimates?
Yes. All of our estimates are free and without obligation. They include a complete project assessment and recommendations tailored to your needs.
